GIMP looking Tango good

So if you are geek enough and you have the time and will to compile GIMP from CVS like I did, you will notice the new default Tango styled icons. The new icons give a really nice and professional look and feel to one of the best open source image manipulation program out there. I can’t wait for stable 2.4 version of GIMP. All this thanks to amazing people behind Tango project.

On a side note, GIMP is not such a small application to compile, on my Intel 1.73GHz laptop compilation took quite some time to finish. And CPU temperature went up to 72 degrees ! Now this is a record for my laptop I think. Well this time of the year outside temperatures here in Slovenia are around 30 degrees, so it’s understandable I guess.

Here’s a screenie of my Novell/Suse linux inspired Fedora - GNOME desktop with the latest GIMP:

gimp tango
